Looks a bit like his Uncle!

Cracking series of shots but the first one looks a little strange around the mouth?

He's not going to be happy when Uncle shows them to his first girlfriend.

Really love these. Your Nephew is very photogenic and has a Makauley Culkin look about him. Great set of images, I know little of portraits but lighting looks spot on and the eyes are pin sharp.

Thanks OB. I see what you mean about the line around the top of the mouth. I think its marmite, as I'd just made him some toast before taking the photos. I'll have to get the healing brush on that lol.

Cheers Garry. Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the results. I struggled with the backdrop a bit. Its was slightly too wide for the wall and so had a tendency to gather, causing some annoying shadows. You can notice them in the bottom left of the monochrome image. I've since sliced 12" off the side and taped it to the wall. Hopefully that will solve the problem but, I might just invest in some of that vinyl you mentioned from the company in Scotland. I've got it bookmarked, so thanks for the heads-up on that!

LOL, Chris. We call my sister Makauley Culkin, as she was the spitting image of him when she was little. Jo looks a lot like her but also a lot like his dad too. His seven week old sister already looks a lot like him, so I'm hoping for another photogenic model in years to come lol.

The lighting was from 3 flashes and the use of a Lastolite Triflector. Superb bit of kit and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into studio portraiture. The shots were all taken on a combination of the Nikkor 35-70mm F/2.8D and the good old nifty fifty f/1.8 @ f/3.2, which is why they are nice and sharp.

Thanks again for all your comments guys. Much appreciated

My son was the double of Macauley too, now he looks nothing like him..Luckily his cheeky looks was noticed and he spent age 6 to age 18 as a fairly successful child actor.

Nice set of pictures.

The muliple catch lights in the eyes are somewhat distracting. Perhaps one would suffice. Just a suggestion.
