Yesterdays sunset at the harbour

I took these yesterday on a cold walk down at the harbour.

So what do you think of them.

This looks like Whitehaven to me if I'm not mistaken, Alf and it's a great location for shooting sunsets. Personally, I like to stand on the inner harbour wall and shoot towards the harbour entrance where the small lighthouse is with a super wide angle lens. Brings back happy memories for me.

The line up of the sun is way off the that at this time of year

Hi Alf

I didn't leave a comment when you posted your first images because although they are very nice shots they just lacked that bit of excitement but that all changed when you posted this last image , the composition works really well for me and the dredger adds the action or excitement lacking in the other images . The slight bit of cloud cover over the sun adds depth , the people by the lighthouse adds scale and the silhouetted smoke from the funnel adds the atmosphere , lovely shot really like it .

As stated all C&C welcome so saying are boring counts too you know
The image you do like I took over 20 years ago on that funny stuff called film using a boring Olympus OM 2sp with a (borrowed) 135 mm f 2.8 Zuiko lens on Kodak exktachrome I think doesnt look like Fuji 50 which was my other favourite.

The dredger was the last working steam dredger in the country.
I only showed this shot to demonstrate the different position of the sun in the sky from a summer.
Ian
The shot of Clearway was taken from your suggested location on a warm summer evening.
