How do the Photo Galleries Work

I thought I'd let the forum settle in a bit before trying to upload a photo. I eventually found how to upload my image, but I think I inadvertently put it into someone else's category, is there a way of getting it out of there? As I can't seem to find how to edit my image properties in my image folder. What category should we be choosing when uploading? as we have to pick something from the dropdown list.

Also, is it my imagination or were we meant to be able to post images directly into forum posts? and not have to upload them to our gallery first.

Gee, you kind of hit on all of the problems there: you can upload to anyone's gallery because users can make public galleries.

The offical statement that some configuration is needed calls for a thank you to this guy :

Just to add to the gallery questions, what is the hot shots gallery for? Is that where you submit images for consideration for inclusion in the magazine? I presume they browse the galleries for potential inclusions anyway don't they? I think that's how I've been picked before

Yes, you're right. The hot shots gallery is for you to submit the photos you want to be considered for print in the magazine. Feel free to upload all your best shots to this gallery; we've only got 2 images there at the moment!
