Actually, no, not if the current situation stays.

users want to be able to upload shots into their own personal galleries (at least this user does) rather than one (or several content-specific) amorphous giganto-gallery which will be full of 50,000 photos within a few months.

I'd prefer all my shots in my own gallery from which i can feed shots into the forum as required, within my own gallery I'd like the ability to create sub-galleries

The problem will be in a few months time, the drop down list of galleries will be humungous and unwieldy.

The gallery plugin doesn't appear to be the most straightforward method
Cathus, that was what I meant when I said it's going to get messy. The fact that those boxes are ticked by default means people are going to forget to un-tick them.

The more I explore the features of the gallery, the more basic I'm finding it. Not sure how flexible this plugin is behind the scenes, but I'm guessing it's not very configurable. EDIT: Actually, ignore my last comment, I think it just needs setting up properly.

Thanks, Stuart. What about a link to upload an image to appear when one clicks on one's username?

Also, the Exif data that appears seems to be a little strange in some cases...
For example, it seems to give the shutter speed but not the aperture?

There is a value for something called "MaxApertureValue", but the figure itself seems to be meaningless - for example in one photo it
reads "4/1" and in another "325770/65536".

Is there any way for you to include the exposure values (eg "Exposure time" could read "1/60" and "Aperture" could read "f4"?

I enjoy seeing the Exif data because it helps me learn more about how to expose pics in different lighting conditions, but it's only helpful
if the values are similar to the settings one can change on the camera. I've yet to see a setting of "325770/65536" for the f-stop on a camera.

On the Photradar site it was possible to edit the Exif data before an image was posted; could you implement that feature again please?
Sometimes I upload pics taken with a cellphone and would like to be able to remove the GPS data before uploading. Even if the values
aren't displayed here, I'm told that those with sufficient technical savvy can still retrieve them.

Thanks.

I am finding the new website rather confusing. I expected the galleries to appear under the your photos link on the homepage, but this just takes you to information about things, such as news, rather than to galleries. I have found that the galleries appear to be under the forum, however its a little confusing to me how we are supposed to browse these. Looking at them in more detail it does appear to be not too bad but I agree some things are confusing such as the amount of EXIF and that it isn't very useful, such as no obvious f stops.

I actually found that original wesbite, the one before photoradar much more easy to use than photoradar or this one. The galleries were much more obvious and user friendly too. This one looks like it could be ok if some things were sorted out. What is supposed to be under your photos if not the galleries? Also on photoradar it was really difficult to browse through and if you typed a search word in it wouldn't even bring photos up that had the keyword in their titles. I have noticed on here there is a search facility, haven't tried it yet though!

As I said in a different thread, They need to make sure the server is running Imagemagick / GD2 / or jhead. and set the path to it in config.

Imagemagick would be my choice though. Then you will see the exif as expected.

Still looks like it's not set up properly, people posting images all over the place. I can't edit the category I set up as a test, so can't stop others posting in it. lol.. looks like once you set up a album (category), you lose control of it it which is useless IMO.

Members can still add global (public) categories, when they should be able to add albums in their own user gallery only. I feel the longer this is left, the more of a mess it'll be to sort out.

You see Karen, that's the problem, it's not your folder. What's basically happened is, they've given you (and all the registered members group) the permissions to create public albums by default. This shouldn't happen.

Anyone got a testsite running this gallery script? I'd love to check out the config settings.

Right, I understand it now :-) I can see how it might become very complicated!

Hi folks, looks like there are some config issues to sort out; we'll have a look as soon as we can.
