Night Shift

We don't get much in the way of industrial landscapes in rural Suffolk so the best I could do is the local sugar beet factory .

One question I have is about the colour of the lights at the factory , I can't remember there being orange and green spot lights so are my eyes going or does the lens play tricks with different types of lights .

Love the shot, and don't think the colours look bad, in fact I like them :-) Do you think it could be to do with white balance and maybe it just needs correcting in raw? I don't think digital camera's are affected by reciprocity failure like film cameras.

I did go back to my RAW file and had a play with the white balance but that changed the temp of all the colours and didn't even out the differences in the flood lights .

So either the lights are differently coloured or the lens is doing something strange with the light that comes in at different angles .

I think it needs some of the shodaws recovered a bit more but its a nice shot.

The light colours seem to be a mix light types depending on which phase of construction/modification they were installed under IMO. I think the add to the shot actually. Your ese is amazing at balaning light and will probably always be better than your camera.

Your suggestion about the lights being from different phases of the plants history makes sense , if they use different types of bulbs then they would probably give off a different coloured light .
