Ok, due to the fact that this was my only free day (working tomorrow and out most of Sunday) and i am to blame for this weeks topic, i'm in with this, "The Zipper".
This is used in all sorts of places, taken for granted but without it our lives would not be the same.

The Zipper

I'm in (for now, should I not manage another) with this.....it's something most of us probably don't think about until it blows, and something we rely on without realising ,for everything electrical, and yes, count up how many you are probably using right this second......

THE FUSE

Poor Matthew, I hope it was a very, very long time ago, and that it only survives as a painful memory.
(Have you tried counselling?)

Im thinking about that film , I think it might have been "There's something about Mary".....very painful and can imagine how painful such an incident would be.
