Wildlife catagory and another question

Hey
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before or the info is somewhere else but I did look quite hard and couldn't find the answer so I'm hoping someone here can help.

My first question is do photos of animals from zoo's or wildlife parks qualify for the wildlife catagory. I ask this just because in other competition rules I've seen it stated you can't use any photos taken in zoo's or wildlife parks.

Second question is about how old the photos are. Is there any limit on when you took the photo? Eg does it have to have been taken within the last year or something? I have quite a few photos I'd like to enter that are maybe 3 years old but have just been sat on my hardrive for all that time. They haven'y ever been sent into any competitions, magazines or been published before.

Thanks if anyone can help me out with this
James

Zoo photos are fine, " Entries must have been taken no more than five years prior to the category submission closing date."

Hi guys, I'm posting here because the thread is already open and concern the same problem.

I've just replied on FB on the techradar message about wildlife ....

well if i'm writing here it is just because there is something wrong in this wildlife category...

as I said, wildlife, just read the word, WILDlife, can't include zoo photography !

it is a real weird thing your are doing with this category.
I can't see the point, especially in the Uk , where the veolia wildlife photographer of the year competition takes place, to tell people that zoo is considered as wildlife...

This said, the photos I'm talking about are mostly awesome and deserves prices
