The competition site says Judging is underway, shortlists will be announced in November, this thread has also been updated with that info and there has been a similar announcement on Facebook and Twitter. The rules also state the winner will be announced in December.

I'm not sure what else there is to know?

I agree, I feel there has been enough updates on the subject. Patience is a virtue.

Given that the front page of PhotoRadar hasn't been updated in a while (in fact the photo of the day has been there for the last 7 days) .... I think that the web developers have been a little busy elsewhere ;-)

I hope they've done lots of stress testing

I still have 2 days to find out I haven't made the cut again ... I can wait

I've given up, busy doing other photography things. Nothing could be more relaxing!

I suppose if I had managed to get somewhere, I'd get and email.

Reinardina... not that I want to increase your stress levels even further... but... the shortlisted people won't get an email to tell them that they have been shortlisted, as only the winners etc will be needed for printing in the magazine.

The winners haven't been chosen yet, so no email doesn't mean anything ;-)

Ho No ... i misunderstood the regulations,

i send to POTY the low resolution files, from the idea that if i will make it to the shortlist the judges will ask me for the high resolution file..

Hi avima,

Only images that are going to be printed in a magazine need to be high resolution, for web use low resolution files are more than adequate. With so many photos on the shortlists, it wouldn't be practical for every shortlisted photo to be requested, unfortunately.

This is what the rules say:

"Photographers may be contacted by email for high-resolution files of their image(s) for potential shortlisting purposes during the competition."

Please note the phrase "may be contacted", we would only contact you if we felt it was absolutely necessary for the shortlisting process. With thousands of images to go through, calling them all in would be a logistical nightmare.

Hope you understand,

Amy
