I suppose this is where they will score, people new to DSLR photography.

I used to subscribe to Digital Photographer and Digital Camera magazines, but there are only so many times you can read an article on a particular subject. And from what I saw on Saturday a lot of the new magazine was the same.

It's testiment indeed to this fact that I am able to reply to you (because I received notification via e-mail) before I can actually see your note to me in the forum itself!

I have noticed two things though -
1) there is a promise that this forum is going to be updated soon
2) Marcus is leaving....

Maybe I'll come back again in the near future and check it out again.
As I said, the people are great!

Marcus left in early October, that's why there have been so few updates on the main site since then.

That's why we also ask you to be patient with us in creating the new site/galleries etc, because there is nobody working solely on the site at the moment as Marcus and I used to do. I work elsewhere now, but am lending a hand while the transition occurs as I know how it works.

A Community Editor will be appointed to deal with the forums, social media and new website once it goes live.

Thanks,

Negative responses

Hi,
As a new guy to this forum, where I hoped that I would meet photographers who knew what they were about, I am sad at the negative comments I have read about the magazine.

Surely its not that bad. I may not be and expert in photography but I do know a decent mag, when I see one and in my humble opinion, the producers tried hard to fill it with well produced content.

I take the point about 'How do they get writers asking questions on the very first issue etc, but surely this is just a guide as to what the Mag' is proposing to put out in the future.

I was a chartered surveyor by profession and I used to get my particular professional magazine monthly and I must say it was repetitious sometimes. There is only so much you can write about!

As Abe Lincolne said "You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time". Let's give them a chance eh?

Regards to you all
Tez

Wow a mag totally dedicated to Nikon, I just love it and about time, very informative and very interesting i get home of a night and keep picking it up to read so it has me well and truly interested in future issues, I have just signed up for the £5 offer and if the mag is going to be like the first one then NPhoto will have me hooked.

Just on a quick question is there any plans of a binder to keep the mags in because they are to good a quality for the wife to pick up and throw in the bin when I leave them lying around.

Hi Amy,
I'm glad you are helping out - the website took a nosedive when you moved to your new role.
I noticed this on the sidebar Facebook information and wondered if it has been mentioned specifically within the forum yet (I think not everybody uses facebook). It was posted on 11th November according to the sidebar.

"Good morning - in a tactic stolen from Twitter, as it's Friday, we'd like to remind everyone to follow TechRadar Cameras and Digital Camera magazine to keep up with the team here, the PhotoRadar page will be closing down soon so you will no longer receive the updates! Happy Friday!"

Phil

Hi Karen,
Thanks - moved to flickr as it is a lot easier to upload photo's (direct from within lightroom).

How did your courses go? Did you pass them all?

Phil

I keep meaning to try out lightroom. The exams went well thanks. Business studies, economics, law and psychology all at grade A :-) I picked up the certificates on Monday actually as I forgot to go in November lol.
I'm doing another one at the moment, Media production but I am defiinitly going to Newport to do the docu photography after this one, even if I have to sell my soul ;-)
