Hi Chris (DD),
If you haven't written the cheque out yet, Amazon have a special offer on this week. Elements 10 for £30.
Gotta be a bargain!

I may have missed it, but I didn't see a mention that it was required to run on a Netbook. If it is, forget PS and Elements - and most other serious photo-editing software.... no problem with the power - it's the small screen. The software will require more pixels on the screen to operate.

If it's a laptop or desktop, Elements is a really excellent program for the money (and it will run on Mac or PC). In fact it's not as 'cut down' as you'd think... a lot of full Photoshop features are included - but hidden. Other contenders would certainly include PaintShop Pro Photo and PhotoPlus. They all work on the Photoshop standard with layers and there are lots of tutorials online, particularly for Elements (including some excellent ones on PhotoRadar). If it's just for 'correcting' pictures, Lightroom would be good, but a bit more expensive.

Hi Chris,
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier - been away.
It seems the Amazon offer was very limited (a few days), but at £35 I still reckon you've got a good price.
Hope you're enjoying it, although it is a bit of steep learning curve.

You should be able to shoot in Raw and work in elements using the ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) plugin.

No Chris. It should be built in to the program. Shoot a test shot in RAW and when you have uploaded to the computer open Elements and click on the file which should automatically load it ACR.
