Would this be a good deal?

Hi everyone

I'm looking to buy my first digital SLR, and with it coming up to Christmas, there are understandable some deals around. Just seen an advert on TV for a Canon Eos 1100D with two lenses and a bag for £499 (see here: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/eos-110...85901-pdt.html)

I was wondering how everyone would perceive this as a first foray into teh world of digtal SLRs. I'm interested at trying my hand at pretty much everything, photography-wise, seeing what I prefer shooting, how, etc, so i thought a couple of lenses might be a good idea. I've only just come back to this point as I've not had the money until recently to spend on a camera, so now the time has come for me to make a decision. I've also heard the Nikon D1300 is a very good entry level SLR, and I will more than likely buy either a Canon or Nikon.

If anyone can give me any advice on this deal, what I should look into, any other deals wrth looking at, etc, please let me know.
