LR3- how to import just one CR2 from a card.?

This is the scenario..... i have my card reader inserted with say 200 RAW+Jpeg images.
I intend to edit just one image from this whole lot however when importing it brings in the complete 200.
So how does one import just one image from a batch of 200?

You get the option to untick images during import. Check the top left of the little preview image

There's an uncheck all button

You can also highlight a series of images by holding shift or ctrl, and then tick or untick any of the highlighted images - it will do the same for all.

I am alittle confuSed here....are you talking about the images that come up on the monitor from the card reader...or are you referring to the little images at the base of LR3 that came straight from the card reader.?

when you open Lightroom and select 'import' you get thumbnails of all the images you want to import after you've navigated to the card, folder or location of the images. By default all are ticked ready to import, just untick all and tick the ones you want to import.

There is a setting in Lightroom preferences which will automatically open Lightroom and go to the import screen as soon as you connect your card reader and card to your computer which can cut down on faffing around opening Lightroom and navigating to the import section, but can be a pain if you don't want to use Lightroom every time you connect a card reader

I just click the button at bottom centre which says 'uncheck all" then just click the ones I want to import.

Martin, yep, that's what I emant when I said 'untick all' I wasn't suggesting unticking everything individually.

Likewise, you can CTRL or SHFT (can never remember which way round it is without doing it myself) click the first and last shots you want to import then then just tick one of them and all selected will be ticked at the same time rather than doing each one separately.

You click the first shot then hold shift and click the last shot to select everything in between.

Holding Ctrl allows you to select multiple random items.
