An extra £30? The full version of Lightroom 3 is £240 at Adobe and £214 on Amazon.

I use PS 5, so unfortunately I can't answer your question about which is better, between LR3 and CS3. I'd hazard a guess that LR3 would be better, but this assumption is based purely on the fact that CS3 is at least 4 year old. Actually, I'm pretty sure JimmyOsram (Paul) uses Lightroom, he's a very accomplished seascape photographer so it might be useful to get his opinion if he passes by.

Why don't you download the free 30 day trial of LR 3 and see how you get on with it. Ultimately only you can decide which is better for you.

Regards

Nick

Cheers Nick for that. Ironically as we speak the price of LR3 has been dramatically dropped to approx. 90 quid possibly due to the new LR3.5 release??
That is just too attractive so off i go to grab this box of witchcraft. I was really impressed with LR1 [even tho it couldnt do my RAW ] thus i'm really looking forward to receiving this item.
Thanx again

Be careful with that cost. I assume it's an upgrade cost rather than full version? If so, are you sure it will handle an upgrade from v1-3 skipping v2?

I'd second what MattUK says.

I'm pretty sure that Lightroom 3.5 is the version of Lightroom 3 you'll get if you purchase a full product now. There is certainly a free upgrade from 3.x to 3.5 available here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...jsp?ftpID=5256

Adobe don't drop prices because of any imminent release, if they have announced a new version, you should be entitled to a free upgrade, if you purchase between the announcement date and the final release of the product.

If you purchase a boxed product for 90 pound, I'd suspect that it's a student and teacher edition, for which you will have to fax proof of your eligibility (NUS card, recognised school letter headed paper etc.) to Adobe, before they will send you a licence number. Alternatively at that price, it might be from the USA and the reseller will provide you with a activation number, but you will only be able to reinstall it a maximum of 3 times.

I hope this helps

Regards

Nick

My apologies, I assumed you were in the UK.

I don't really understand their shipping policy on that page though:
The Adobe Asia Pacific/International Stores can deliver only to residents of Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa. If you are not currently a resident of any of these countries, please check our store selector to see if we have a store that serves your country, or see Other Places to Shop to purchase Adobe products.

Good luck and regards

Nick
