Still life table

Hi,

I am looking for a table top to shoot still life on and wondered if anyone had used anything like this:-

My biggest concern is can it easily be packed away, I have read in some places the background can be a pig to straighten out in the first place let alone pack away.

Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative products?

Budget is around £100.

Not used anything like that.

I use a light tent with a glossy plastic stand in black & white as a base (if I want a reflective base) then set it up on the kitchen table or wherever.

I have a light tent but the backgrounds are not very good and crease easily. What sort of glossy plastic stand do you use or did it come with your tent, if so which tent do you use.

You can iron the backgrounds for a smoother look, sometimes don't bother though. You could put a sheet of coloured card inside at the back. Can't recall the size but it;s pretty large, maybe 3ft 6 cubed.

The stand is a purpose stand for product photography, I can't for the life of me remember where I got it from except I got it online, maybe via Ebay. It has two sheets of shiny perspex, back & white and underneath there are little sockets with magnets, you then get 4 perspex cyclinders with magnets at one end which you can use as legs for the sheets.

Though any sheet of perspex would work, or you can use a sheet of picture frame glass and put colored paper under it.

The beauty of it is that you can literally put it up or put it away in 30 seconds, if that (not counting the ironing) and it only takes up the space of flattened circle about a foot diameter and 2 inches thick.

you can see I didn't iron it very well this time, the perspec sheet is about 12inches square

Thanks Cathus, I have a cube tent with rubbish backgrounds made of plastic which would probably melt if I tried to iron them, I have tried card with mixed results but now knowing how you guys do it I think I will experiment further. I may well go for one of the tables as well because I have been asked by people to do product shots for them and I think it will be handy.

now if that table would fit inside a light tent you'd have the best of both worlds, nice surface and great light.

Now theres a thought though you could put a light tent on each light to difuse it
