you will get colour casts with all types of filters as they age they fade giving a cast, the quality of the filter dictates how long it takes to create a cast.

I was told that even Lee filters fade but the quality of the service is such that they will re-dip the filter for you to bring back the original quality

Seriously consider ND grads. Just relying on software is going to end up in tears at some point.

There is a very good reason why pros still continue to use them and there are many situations where highlight detail will not be recoverable.
