Newbie to Photoshop

Hi,
I am not new to photography per se. but I am new to Photoshop.
I have purchased a copy of CS2, am I right in assuming that whatever can be done in previous versions of Photoshop can be done in CS2?

Theoretically yes, apart from tools and procedures that have been changed for the better.

As this is an old version of CS, the latest being CS5, it will do the same as any previous CS version and more but will probably only do better than the Elements versions that were released before it.

I've actually had it for about 3 years, but I've only just started using it.
I've been using film again as well as digital.
I've also been using Serif PhotoplusX4.
But this doesn't seem to give me the control that I've been told Photoshjop can.
