Canon 600mm/800mm telephoto FD conversion

Hello,

I'm still waiting to win the lottery, as such the long Canon lens I've been dreaming of for years is still yet to be ordered!

I've been offered a 600mm FD telephoto lens which I've been told can be converted for around £60 so that it works with digital Canon cameras however I have my reservations.

The lens will be a manual focus; screen on my 1D MkII isn't the biggest so reviewing may be difficult. Any thoughts, comments or experiences? Alternatively, what is the going rate for a used automatic focus 600mm telephoto lens?

You can get FD to EF converters. It will be manual focus. I say for that price give it a shot.

Thanks for the information.
In the end I decided not to buy the lens; instead I've bought a Canon 400mm f5.6 L. I will use my 2x extender, so hope that I'll get some good images.
If anyone ever has a 600mm for sale or wants to hire some lenses cheap... Please let me know!
