That's correct, you can only draw on the current layer - no point in drawing the same content onto multiple layers...

Matt,

If you click on the image I posted on the previous page to enlarge it, I selected the drop down box Fonz refered to. What do the three options "current layer" "current and below" and "all layers" do?

Yes i'm getting the cloning to work on all layers. Not getting the option for sharpening.

Current layer samples clone data from the current layer, current and below samples the current and all layers below, and all samples all layers above or below. These options allow you to sample clone data from an image that's constructed of multiple complex layers, and draw that cloned content onto a new layer anywhere in the layer stack.
