New lens for older camera?

Apologies if this question has been answered before.
After a lot of looking I bought my first DLSR, a D60 I want to buy a portrait lens and have been recommended a 50mm 1.8. What I can't work out is whether I need the 1.8D, 1.8F or the AS, AF-1
I cannot find an explanation as to what the letters stand for either so I am unsure which one/s will fit my camera.
Can anyone help please? x

You need this one Nikon 50mm f1.8 G AF-S Lens, as it has a built in focus motor which is required for a D60 camera. Any lens that has AF-S in it's name will work on your camera with full auto-focus. Other lenses will work but manual focus only.

Ask as many question as you wish.
