Hi Chris,
I've found the 12-60mm at the bargain price of £749 with the Digital Camera Company. Do you think I should snap their hand off?

It's also £749 at Camerabox and it's £830 at WEx so it's not a bad price. If you've got the cash it's a big step forward from the 14-42!

Hi Chris,

I've endulged, but I found the best price on Amazon Marketplace, when you take into account the delivery charges. Can't wait now though....

Congrats Ian!

I'm sure you'll love it. Made me fall in love with my 510 all over again and it was a heartbreaking moment when I had to give it back (and I only had it for a couple of hours!).

Hi Chris,

Well it's arrived this morning. I'm just wondering what filter it is best to go and buy to protect the end of the lens and where from. I suppose being a 12mm (24mm) wide angle lens I will need a slim filter on a 72mm thread.

I suppose a thinner filter would be worth the money as there is no point in having swish lenses to then fill the frame with filter holders! I'd probably have a hunt around on WEx to start with.

I've gone for a Hoya HD digtal protector. Should do the job and I've also ordered a 72mm adapter ring for my Lee filter housing too.

Been having a play with the lens and I can't quite believe how fast the auto focus system is in comparison. I can see why it holds the record for being the fastest system. Phenominal! Can't wait to get out and about somewhere to put it through it's paces.

That SWD is mighty fast. My 50-200 was, sadly, the older non-SWD version but the 12-60 was blindingly quick!

Enjoy!
