Nikon Cash back

I bought my new Nikon last December and duly sent of for the cash back fully intending to by a spare battery with the £40 pounds.
Yep you have guessed it I'm still waiting.
I have phoned and e-mailed Nikon UK and the only response has been from what sounded like an apprentice tele sales who greeted me with "yes what can i do for you" no name, good morning, or welcome. When I explained he put me on hold, boy do I hate "Phone Music", I was then passed between three different people the end result "it should be in the post".
I then asked when it had been posted
Reply I dont know
How then can you say it should be in the post if you do not know when it was sent
Reply because you have applied for it.
I then asked to speak to a manager and the phone went dead
If any of my staff treated a customer or visitor in such an appaling and off the cuff attitude they would be sacked on the spot.
You may have guessed that I am of the old school that values decency and I am not afraid to say I put decency and good customer relations before PC.Yes I know all about verbal and written warnings but if I loose a customer I loose income

Come on Nikon IM STILL WAITING

I would have called straight back and asked the same again getting names of staff dealing with me. I`ve never had a problem with cash back / free grips offers and Nikon myself. However having to return my 16-35 F4 lens because the VR function is going wrong after only 6 months has seriously got me miffed. Got me wondering if it is worth paying the extra for Nikon and VR

I've just sent away for mine (registered delivery) so I'm interested in seeing how long this is going to take and how they process it. I'll keep you up to speed. Thanks for sharing your experiences on this though.

If I recall correctly it took about 28 days for my cash-back to arrive from Nikon.

I think they say it will take about that long, so there is not a lot of point panicking about it before a month has passed.

It's the norm for companies of this size to take that long to process, so I'll give them another 25 days . I registered-delivered the documents as well to the address provided, so no excuse of "we didn't get it in the post!"

Received the cash back prepaid card today from Nikon. Quicker than what I expected but I think I'll be investing that back into a tripod soon. OR a new lens

Has anyone had any issues spending the cashback on the cards? I spent £28 of my £40 leaving me with £12. Whenever I try to spend the remaining £12 (for amounts less than £12) online, the merchant receives an insufficient funds error? Nikon cannot help and Citi keep telling me I need an account for the card (which doesn't make sense) .. can anyone help, its driving me mad!

Thanks

I don't know what's happening to Nikon these days. They still make pretty good gear, but their customer service is appalling and administration shambolic.
I've been dealing with Nikon for nearly 40 years and they changed from an efficient customer focussed company to a money generating machine where the odd customer just gets in the way. The staff you have to speak to are clueless and careless. Few have any sort of command of the English language, so you have to question how much command they have of their products.
