Among the vineyards

Morning all

Here is something from Burgundy in France. I waited about an hour to get a small flickering of shadows across the landscape.

It was taken around 1PM in the day, so outside of what most people consider a good time to get landscape shots.

The weather was awful for the majority of the morning. I was however greeted with an amazing sunrise further westwards.

Burgundy is one of the major wine growing areas of France. It's also a place that doesn't seem to get many tourists. It's somewhere I'd love to run some workshops for people as I know it would be greatly enjoyed!!!

Not too sure of your composition here Jools. The interweaving diagonals are great, but you have too much bland sky. Perhaps try to make a feature of the vinyard in the foreground.

Jimmy. I'm sure if you look closely, it is broken into thirds. That classic rule of thirds???

The scene is also being very gently side-lit from the left of the image.

Mood is probably what you should be looking for.

What do you know? A lot by the looks of it!

Having looked at your album, I think you have some really nice stuff. The biggest problem I have with it is that there is too much use of Photoshop to achieve the final image.

Sometimes with my own things, there is more in there than at first glance.

Yes, the sky in the vineyards could be better. But it's all I had to work with. It was worse an hour earlier but given some time it had some form to it and then just for a few brief minutes the sun slowly licked the landscape. Add this small splash of light to the dark clouds and you start getting some contrasting features.

I'll post another vineyards one. See what you make of it.
