I'm only asking people what they think the pro's and con's are for owning a wide angle lens.

Yes I know I won't be able to use it for macro. I have my kit lens and a different camera for that.

I want the 10-20 myself. I did not know there was an adapter for the 8-16 as I want to be able to use filters (I have a Hitech/Formatt 100mm sytem) on it, so I had excluded it.

One of the mags did a test recently, I cannot remember if it was DC or PP.

I don't know if any of the camera shops near you stock both but it may be worth while taking your camera along and asking if you can test both lenses on it.

Hmm I've never thought of that. Think I'll have to try that when I have the money. Although I've found a website which sells the 10-20mm at £325

You don't have to buy from the shop, just try it out then buy from the web.

Thanks for the replies.

I've decided that I'm going for the Sigma 10-20. I've seen some reviews and some good photos.

I'm going to Scotland to Loch Linnhe at the end of October and I'll have bought by then. I should be able to take some stunning views.

Thanks. I was looking at that before I looked at this thread

This might be a dumb question but whats the difference between Canon EF and Canon EF-S ???
(If I have the latter correct.) Would it fit my 450D?
