Bleak Landscape

Taken hand held and without filters I took this shot of an area of park land that was under going some quite major land management at the time . I wanted to give the shot a bleak almost post apocalyptic feel to it , all comments welcome .

Mark

Hi Mark

I think there is a good picture in there, but as it stands it does not do it for me.

I think a tighter crop, may be even a square crop, the left side of the picture does nothing for me.

Have you tried converting this to BW, I think the sky would look better for it as you could boost the contrast more and bring out the stony soil and texture of the tree more.

Steve

Hi thefonz thanks for your comments , I may well go back and have a real good play to give it an even more moody look .

Thanks dan I'm glad I've managed to get my idea across .

Steve thanks for your comments and advice , I did try a B & W conversion but I'm just not good enough to make it work . I didn't crop in any closer because I didn't want it to be just about the tree but more about the atmosphere .

Thanks for you time

Mark

Mark i really like your pictures you have a good eye. I'm with you i wouldn't crop this one or the cat one much. They just need little tweaks. Watch some of the videos tutorials on this site the a brilliant!
