Neidpath Castle, Scottish Borders

Hopefully something a bit different....

(Apologies for the top left hand side of the pic - a little bit of cloning required perhaps!)

James, try cropping the bottom up to where the shadow meets the left of the image - you've got yourself a nice shot

It's perhaps a little higher than I thought, but I definitely prefer it. But what do you think?

Yep, you're right! Cheers Matt! You're also right that its perhaps a little bit too high and could go down a wee bit, so I'll take care of that! I've got a few more of that castle from different angles which I'd consider better in some respects - I might post some of those when I get back from holiday!

Like it.
I agree about the crop. The original has a little too much foreground clutter and being dark it draws the eye away from the prime subject.
Lot of movement in the branches - Long exposure, windy day? I'm not sure if I like the blurred branches or not. Hum ... Er ... Mmmm!

Umm 30 second exposure..... Heh! Unfortunately the requirement for a long exposure is one of the joys of infrared photography on and unconverted camera, and the messy top right corner is the result of light leakage past the cokin filter! One of the reasons I've moved onto a hoya r72 screw in ir filter, although its not as sensitive I'm finding!
