Aurora Alert! Aug 5th and 6th

A large solar flare could hit the earth at 0300 UT on August 5th. Plus or minus 7 hours though If they are accurate that is 10 PMish here. I am at the lake and very far away from light pollution. There is a second flare that may hit the next night.

So, I will look up some tutorials on shooting Aurora Borealis.

Good luck. The chance of seeing them in the UK is pretty slim i should image. I will look out for them though. I look forward to seeing some pictures if you get lucky.

I am actually more south than a lot of the UK. I picked Bath (home of the magazines) and it is 51 N. I am currently at 45N.

I am glad the mosquitoes are pretty much done here, I will be outside for quite a while and I HATE insect repellent.

I just checked the weather down my way. It says sunny intervals so doen't look good

I will be keeping an eye on the space weather and see how far south the aurora may be seen.
