Auto Photo Numbering

My K-5 was bought brand new, but the serial numbering on photos started at about 9000: how do I get it to start numbering (from now on) at 0001 upwards? There has to be a setting somewhere in the works?!

The settings can be changed according to pages 302-303 of the user manual, particularly the last part - "Resetting the File Name".

However, I must admit (not having a K5) these instructions don't make a lot of sense to me..... seems to depend on folders etc. But give it a whirl, perhaps it makes more sense to you with the K5 in your hand.

Have had a look at the manual, but will give it another go. As you say, it doesn't make too much sense. WIll revert after weekend.

this may sound silly but is the card full?? this is a quit strange, as I and I others would think that any camera bought new would start at frame one and so on unless there is sume thing on the memory card ( unless I'm being as thick as awhale omlet)

No, card is not full. I spoke to someone else, similar issue, but he had someone reset the count for him. I will give it a go this weekend.

I have no idea why your numbering started at around 9000 but if you simply want images numbered at 0001 upwards you could follow the new folder procedure on page 301 of the K5 manual, if you haven't already.
