I wonder why you keep coming back here, considering how you feel about it.

We should just be glad someone with ABERS photography experience does keep coming back. I have stuck with this site and probably always will but compared to the old site this one isn't even coming close.

Jim.

Oh Jim, don't get me wrong I really do appreciate ABERS coming to the forum. He is a really talented and accomplished photographer and I really like his work (a shame his work is no longer in his gallery, as it is something that we could all aspire to). It's also a huge shame he doesn't spend as much time here as he used to, but I've been around here long enough to understand some of the reasons and frustrations he has.

However, I did take exception to the "All there is now is mediocre dross with mutual backslapping to the fore" when there are the likes of KarenOliver, Cathus, Cutter, RBarry, JimmyOsram among many others that post their images on this forum, I don't think that their photographs are "mediocre dross". I still think that it was an unkind comment to make from a such a gifted photographer to people that are enjoying and sharing their photography hobby.

Kind regards

Nick

I agree with you, I think. A lot of what Abbers said, and you quoted, I do not understand. It does not translate well into Canadian, eh?

I do agree that we have some talented people here and they give me something to aspire to.

You are quite entitled to criticise anything you believe is not to your liking but to question why someone keeps coming back to the Forum is not constructive to the argument.
This is only my opinion and only ABERS if he wishes can explain what he meant.

Jim.

Jim,

You are right, on reflection, me asking why someone comes back to the forum isn't constructive. And for this I apologies to ABERS. It was meant as a genuine question rather than a dig, but if something frustrated me as much as this forum seems to frustrate ABERS, I don't know how long I would hang around trying to push water uphill.

Regards

Nick

Nick you have answered your own question, people like you and me like to go with the flow but others like to swim upstream and to some extent this gives some balance to the site in that it evokes questions that would otherwise not be asked.

Regards

Jim.

It does not mean that the comments they made are invalid, does it?

However, what they said was valid. The thread was started in February, you asked, people replied. Is there a status update? Users have commented on the same things since launch and we at least used to get a "we are looking into it" but now there is nothing.

I am sure if everyone thought about it for a second, they would realize how thin your resources are here. Is it down to just you at the moment? At launch there were four of you.

We all want the same thing here, a great website with a great community. We have half of that right now.
Agreed. But if I don't have the resources open to me, there's not much I can do right now.

That is understandable. I know some people will still complain knowing Future is a decently sized company, but as they say, size does not matter, any company can be hit hard.

If you can just give us updates that will satisfy most.

Overall, has the site not performed as well as expected when launched?
