Replacement parts for Manfrotto Tripod

I give my tripod a real run for its money (manfrotto 190x pro b) and having taken loads of shots with it in the sea, the whole thing is starting to fall apart. The little levers at the top have also begun sticking and the one has lost its spring and won't lock. I have looked all over the place for a replacement spring but with no luck. It is obvious that sand and sea water will reduce its life span quite a bit, but I can't believe that common parts are not available. I am probably looking in the wrong place.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I heard about a new tripod that is resistant to sea water and stops the water getting into the tubes but it cost around £700! Yipes, too much for me.

Do carbon fiber legs last a bit longer as my tripod legs are flaking with black paint and corroded metal?

Contact Manfrotto and ask if you can buy the needed replacement parts, or if they can supply them under warranty if still applicable. A different company, but I broke one of the head screws on my Giottos tripod and they were able to send me a couple of replacements despite my tripod model being discontinued. I'd imagine Bogen/Manfrotto could easily do the same.

Rainbowman,

If you contact MF they will most likely send you here, the did me:

http://www.johnsons-photopia.co.uk/Contact%20Us_138.php

Contact their service dept, they will be able to identify the parts, either over the phone or they will e-mail you a PDF of the parts for your tripod, they keep just about every spare for every model in stock.
