Well don't delay for too long then for in the not too distant future all cameras will be fitted with this functionality. You can't uninvent (is there shuch a word?) the wheel, and if demand is there, as it obviously is, then all manufacturers will feel obliged to jump on the bandwagon. In a way though, this can be compared to the JPEG v RAW discussion in another thread - just because a camera comes with additional functionality i.e. a RAW capturing capability this doesn't mean you are obliged to use it. I'm presently more than happy with my Canon 40D for stills and my SX1 for stills + the odd movie captures. However, when the time comes to replace the 40D (nearing shutter life expectancy etc) then it will certainly be for a camera that has a video capture capability. That doesn't mean to say I shall be using it every five minutes or so, but it does allow me the option to.

I'm also currently busy, when time permits, editing and compiling a short presentation of my parents recent wedding anniversary which will include both stills and video clips and hopefully it shall be up to this quality http://www.studioimpressionsphotogra...-dslr-cameras/ . So do I think the trend for newer cameras to have a video capturing capability to be a good thing? Yes, most definitely. Like I indicated a little earlier - it affords me another option which I may or may not wish to exercise.

Well, amongst other things Marcus has been named in the top 10 Wedding photographers in the world by BBC Television. More of his biography here http://www.studioimpressionsphotogra...er-biographys/ as you're obviously so interested.
