ProCameraShop.com

Hi All,

Anyone ever bought anything from Procamerashop.com? They appear to be a whole heap cheaper than most of the other sites I've been on. Appreciate they're a Hong Kong company so that's probably why they're cheaper.

I've never bought anything from Hong Kong before - anyone any advice on that too?

(By the way, its a lens I'm looking for and they have it over £100 cheaper than I can find anywhere else)

Thanks!!

I've bought quite a bit from HK, usually via eBay companies. Yout can get some great deals & save cash though these days you save less than you did 2-3 yrs ago since canon & Nikon put up their prices.

Things to be aware of though - warranty, will you be covered on an international warranty so you can get it dealt with locally or will you need to send it back to HK?

Import tax & VAT, this can be hit & miss, sometimes you will be charged one, both or none. Some carriers will hold the package at customs until the bill is paid, some will charge you on the doorstep before releasing it & some will sedn you an invoice a week after they have delivered it.
Though I have to say, even with import & VAT I have still saved money.

Do your research on the company to make sure it's legit & there aren't hordes of people complaining about being ripped off on the internet forums (google helps & is usually a good indication whether to steer clear)

Perhaps this review of procamerashop.com will be of some help: http://www.reviewcentre.com/Online-C...review_1366931 Whether they are real or not is anyone's guess of course.

you will have to pay 20% vat plus a fee by the carrier which is normally £10-£15. The saving are not that big in the end.
