Cheaper alternative to manfrotto 190X PROB

I have my eye on the manfrotto 190X PROB i love its versatility great for landscapes which i will be using it for mostly. What is a good head to go with it? Its a lot of money for me to spend out. Is there a cheaper alternative from other brands with similar features?

I don't know what your budget is but Manfrotto often do some deals. Have a look HERE . For an extra £10 you can get the 055XPROB which whilst a lot heavier has the 804RC2 head with it. I have this et up and love it. It is very versatile.

Oh no i'm trying to spend less not more! Problem is i'm using an old nikon d40x i would like to upgrade to a d7000 or maybe the d300x replacement when it comes out. So £160 on on a tripod and not adding it to my camera funds is hard to justify.

Ok, sorry, as I say, you haven't specified your budget on this one. My son has the 190XDB and that is a lot lighter both weight wise and on the pocket.

no your right Steve i think i need to bite the bullet and buy a good one. I think i like the idea of the 55x a bit more weight to it. Steve may i ask you if you sell much through your website? I have a clicpic website myself and wanted to start selling my prints. What sizes do must people go for?

Sorry, plenty of visits but no sales. I think that the big problem is that I don't have a budget to market the site. Have just put some pics on a stock site Photo4me to test the water there.
