Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II

I see Canon has now produced a MkII version of the EF-S 55-250mm lens. Does anyone know what's different from the MkI?

Many thanks

Ian.

I believe it has a re-designed body Ian, but the optics are the same as the mark I, which is not a bad thing.I have had mine for about a year now and I love it!!

That is what I read as well, the optics are supposed to be the same, but the rest they "lowered costs". It will probably sell for the same so Canon will make more profit. I bought my 55-250 used and it is a great lens for the money. I think I love my 50mm f/1.8 II more though
