PR Main menu Problem in IE9

Anyone else having to play, "Hunt the Forum button" when viewing this site in IE9? and Firefox 4

Forum button seems merge into the background because the black highlight is missing.

Only seems to happen on Forum, and RSS tabs though.

Or is it just me?

It's been like that with Chrome on Win 7 for months. White on light grey has never been a great colour combination for links :-)

When you're viewin the forum, the top nav item disappears. It only appears when you're not already in it

In Chrome, it doesn't disappear, it just turns the word 'Forum' into white text which is almost impossible to read. It's a direct link back to the forum home page (but you can't actually see it very well)

In other sections the link is turned into white text but with a black background.

On Lurkalot's screen grab, the link doesn't actually disappear either, it's just white text on a grey background, as per Chrome. In IE 8 I see there is a black background behind the text, so I suspect it's problem with the CSS definition for the active state of the text link.

I think it stems back from the time PhotoRadar mistakenly linked the Forum button to the POTY competition announcement back in March and has never been corrected.

Cheers

Nick

Oh yeah! I didn't even notice it. Happens on Safari too. Chalk it down as one of the things that won't get fixed..

Yeah, sorry guys, I didn't mean it actually disappeared, it's still there, and I still use it to reload the forums page. But it was the fact that the black background image doesn't load, and as you see the white text just merges into the light grey without it.

I must have a cached file on my other PC running IE8. lol.. Hence why I've not noticed this before.

OB, just to make you feel better, you can print the black background out, and stick it on your screen where the forum button should be. You'll have to write the word "Forum on it first, in white pen. Oh, and don't forget to cut it to length with scissors. lol..

That's about the only solution we're likely to get ATM.
