Bag choice

Does anyone have any bag recommendations that they can share? I'm doing my first wedding in August and will need to carry at least two camera bodies and three lenses plus filters etc.

I suggest going to the Kata bags site and using their bag selector. Even if you do not pick a Kata bag it will give you an idea how large of one to get. It will ask about how many cameras, lenses, laptop, etc, you need to carry.

I'd recommend a shoulder bag for quick access and 'quick pick up and dump'. I use a Tamrac Pro System 12 - not weddings (you'll never get me doing one of them - except for candids!) but photoshoots, photocalls, etc and find it perfect. Here's the list http://www.tamrac.com/categoryindex.htm I'm a big fan of Tamrac, using their Expedition 8 and 7 as well as quick release camera straps - I find them good value

This might not be suitable for wedding due its size but i recently got given a Kata DR-467i for my birthday

this is what i fit in it
Bottom
Nikon D90 body
Niikon 55-200mm
Nikon D60 with 18-55MM VR
and some cards and filters
Middle pockets
Rain cover ( comes with it)
Nissin Di866 flash
Samyang 500mm mirror lens
Laptop pocket will take my 17.3in Dell Inspiron as long as i take the foam out the bottom

Kata, Lowepro and Billingham are worthy contenders. I have the Kata 467i which I won from AP magazine and it is great but not big enough for wedding photography, and I have a small Billingham which I use for general day-to-day stuff. Both are top notch bags. As for size, that depends on how much you lug around with you. And as for cost, buying cheap bags are a waste of time and money, so make sure the bag is right for you in the first place and save yourself some future regrets.

My bags are Kata and Think Tank. I've also used many many Crumplers. All are good. Never been that impressed with Lowepro kit. Tamrac are mucher cheaper, but not as good as Kata or Think Tank.

I'd also suggest a shoulder bag as well. Check out the Think Tank Retrospectives - they're brilliant. Best bag I've ever owned.
