I would also recommend disabling a bunch of things that start at boot. I use CCleaner to manage start up items on Windows machines. It also gives faster access to uninstalling programs as well. It does a great job of cleaning up the registry and temp files in one well done package. It is free too. Piriform, the developer, also does Defraggler which is a good defrag program.

Defrag my SSD drive right you are

Cheers for the advice, I have the absolute minimum running at startup the machine boots in around 40 seconds to desktop and usable(mainly waiting for the BIOS post).

Everything is fine on the machine (built it myself), think the issue was my own impatience/misunderstanding. I to am a fan of CCleaner as you can see for a 2 year old PC it is pretty good:-

EVGA 260GTX

Right if I load a JPEG or RAW file into Photoshop then it does the calculation in a couple of seconds if I Launch PS from lightroom and go to save as, select JPEG instead then it never calculates the size.

If I configure elements as the apllication to launch from lightroom it calcualtes it in couple of seconds, wierd eh.

It seems to be the RAW file from Lightroom casuing the problem as if I force to edit a second instance of the same file forcing it to a tiff then it works, I knew there was something going on

I am using Windows 7 64 bit so am using the 64 bit version of PS.

Nto that bothered about it now I know the issue and how to work around it TBH.
