Fraud buy

digital-cameras.com - camerabox.co.uk

These 2 web sites are the same. They have low prices and promise 5 years guarantee for all products.
What they don't say is that:
All cameras and lenses sold by Camerabox come with a 5 year warranty where stated. This is broken down as follows:
1st Year is fully covered by your manufacturer's warranty.
2nd Year is fully covered by your manufacturer's warranty or if they only offer a 1 year warranty Camerabox will fully cover the warranty for the 2nd year.
3rd Year, 4th Year & 5th Year Camerabox will cover parts only of any warranty repair, labor costs are the responsibility of the purchaser

They take your money specially if you pay with a credit card and they don’t send you anything for it. I bought a Nikon d90 Body and 2 days later they said my credit card was a fraud, they gave no reason, hang up the phone on me and told me my money would be refunded in 2 weeks.
I am still waiting for 540£ and my credit card works fine everywhere every day.

I actually brought my Nikon 55-200MM VR from camerabox

seems like theres loads of problems with them though - maybe i got lucky?

their prices for bodies are the same as places like Jessops , WEX and Park though.

I picked up a refurb D90 from clifton cameras ebay store though for £409... Bargain

I wouldn't worry too much. They are all the ruddy same. On the 6 June I purchased a Panasonic FZ45 and a Lowepro bag on Amazon for my wife's birthday present. Firstly, they emailed me to say my card had been blocked for some reason and I had to sort that out with my bank. Amazon had obviously done something to mess up the transaction. Then Amazon said they would release the goods and my account said it would be with me by Sat 11 June. It didn't arrive. The item tracking number said that it was still in the Citylink system, so I emailed them to see where it was. Citylink replied and said that Amazon had not delivered it to their depot for forwarding and that it wasn't in their system at all.

I have been shopping with Amazon for years with no trouble, so why now? Once bitten twice shy is my motto, and in future I will pay more for the local camera shop to get it for me. Amazon can take a jump as far as I am concerned. They won't be getting any more of my business that's for sure.

As you paid by credit card via a UK site, then you should inform the credit card company and claim the money back from them.

Just Google " camera box " and look at the list of complaints, I had no problem getting my 55/200 but when it went wrong after eighteen months, took over six months for them to repair it.

My order from Amazon arrived at long last, but not before a ton of emails back and forth. I hope you get some joy with your orders.

And just to add some more instances: four years ago I purchased an Oris Miles Complication watch from a well know jewelers. The watch was over 800 quid and kept stopping every 12 months and wouldn't work. I sent it back for repair under warranty, but to no avail, it happened again 12 months later. I complained to the manufacturer in Switzerland and eventually they agreed to have it back for testing. That was two years ago and since then it has been fine. I believe it had been laying around the showroom for sometime before I purchased it and the lubrication had become sticky. That's my guess anyway. It goes to show that you have got to keep on top of these people if you want to get anything done.
