He was a brute wasn't he, but quite fitting for the role I think. I like your framing of this shot as you've not been forced to include his Ford Focus he insisted on standing next to. 8-)

I hated the background distractions on most of my shots. I know nowt about event photography and found it really really difficult. I took this close up anyway with no distracting background but cropped it again even tighter. I like it. I also did one with a very subtle vignette that blended perfectly. Hope to get to beamish the weekend after next for the Georgian Fair. Tried to organise a local meet but after initial interest, no one was up for it. I'm also hoping to get up to Farne Islands in the next 5 weeks at some point for the puffins and the seals. Can you advise if this is the best time, what are the best boat tours and where's decent to stay (just a B&B)? Hubby is bringing his bike so he will go off for a cycle ride whilst I go off on the boat. He gets sea sick bless him!!!!!!

I would have said it was too toghtly cropped but having read your comments and Jimmiy's and seeing his shots I totally understand it as the only other way for this to work would be to swap backgrounds which would have been difficult knowing your limited processing tools.
