Karen have you thought about night shots of those places as Phil says, Ive seen them numerous night times and they are stunning.

Yeah, I have done hundreds of night shots there over the last 3 years or so and closeups of the machinary but its just getting round to uploading them and sorting them all out :-)

Some of these were done with the canon 400d so not the best of quality.

I like those shots post 13.

The shots in the link have real crisp quality to them and as Phil says were probably shot on a 10" X 8" plate camera. They isolate the images as you say by leaving the sky blank but those shots will have had a lot processing to get that contrast. The other main difference to your shots is they got up close and personel to the subject which you possibly cant in the same way. One other big difference is you work in colour mostly an dthey worked in B&W and that changes what you can do to an image without it looking highly processed esepcially nowadays.

Your night shots are truly stunning and something to be really proud of.
