Smile Your Mission 112: Architectural abstracts

This month's mission is all about creating architectural abstracts. Whether it's a whole building shot at an angle or a single rivet filling the frame, we're looking for an image that hones in on what makes the structure interesting.

There are all sorts of routes you can take: you might, for example, want to concentrate on clean lines and empty spaces, or shapes and repetitive patterns, or even details shot at night. Whatever you decide to try, if it's the sort of image that would make an architect swoon, you'll be in with a chance of winning our coveted top spot.

Each month you have the opportunity to win this high-capacity Lowepro camera backpack worth £120 to the lucky winner of our Your Mission challenge.

To enter: Create a gallery on www.photoradar.com, upload your entry and email the link to digitalcamera@futurenet.com with 'Your Mission: architectural abstracts' in the subject line by 3 June 2011. The best three shots will be printed in Issue 114, on sale 28 June 2011.

Hi Amy

Does this have to be a recent shot??

Only I have a photo from a couple of years back that might fill the bill.

Thanks, Amy.

Can you clarify how many images are in an "entry"? Does it mean only one photo in that gallery or is there a specific number allowed?

Thanks in advance

I asked this question before and you can enter as many images as you like, just advise in your mail the number that you are submitting and include the individual links.

Hi fa1sal,

Yes, you can enter as many images as you like - you may have noticed that previous missions have had the same person take 1st and 2nd etc.

Like Steve says, just point out how many you are entering and send a list of links in your email to make it easier on the person putting together the images for judging.

Best wishes,

Amy

Ok Amy I will ask you on this thread!
Im sure I have read your mission this month is to go out and Take shots of this that and the other, not sit at your computer and trawl through your best shots to see what best fits the theme!!!

surely shot of the month should be shot of the month, not a photo you took years ago !!!

Love to hear your response Amy

Mark,

I'm afraid I have no response for you - Your Mission is not something I have any control over - this is something you'd need to take up with Digital Camera, I was just the one who copied this verbatim from the magazine, as requested by (mainly overseas) readers so they could get a head start on the mission every month.

Just to note, it's no longer me who will be sorting out the mission stuff, so again please refer any further queries you have to Digital Camera who will be able to help you.

Their email is digitalcamera@futurenet.com if you want to directly contact them.

Thanks,

Amy
