Two great shots but prefer the second as it's more colourful.

To be honest, When viewed large the detail is lost on me and I can't help wondering whether they should have had more exposure or should have been photographed at a different time. Maybe twilight or just after the sun had gone down. I love the compositions and the colours but think they lack detail .

Not to sure whether a longer exposure would have been better, probably got some burn out in places, but you are correct Karen about the time. But Matt, there is certainly nothing wrong with the camera as regard to high ISO, 1600, superb.

I agree they lack detail

What processing have they had?

Thanks guys. They were tricky to take - handheld in some pretty windy conditions. They had some noise reduction and sharpening applied, as well as a bunch of standard processing for contrast & colours etc

Noise reduction and sharpening can play havoc with images sometimes :-) Skylines are my own personal nightmare anyway lol I always struggle with Liverpool's because of getting detail but blownig out windows! I figured the only way around it was to shoot just after sunset or make two exposures and blend. One for the buildings and one for the window light!
