Hewlett Packard lenses??

Hi gang, I've just discovered Hewlett Packard make lenses to fit Canon cameras. I'm very surprised, has anyone got one? The one I spotted on Ebay is a lot cheaper than the Canon equivalent but is that because they're very poor quality.

(By the way, I bit the bullet and bought the Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD. Just waiting on delivery)

that looks like a Canon 50mm f1.8 lens to me, available in the UK for around £80.

Not sure why he's describing it as hewlett packard

In the details it says it is the Canon lens. The title is misleading too, it is just the lens.

EDIT: just noticed the price. New here those lenses are only $140 CDN. I picked mine up on Craigslist for $90. The price of $146 US is way out....B&H have it listed for $135.

Well thanks Cathus, Dan and Donoreo, that clears that up. So is that actually what I've heard described as "the nifty fifty" or is that the F1.4? I've heard good reports about it.
Thanks again.
Martin.

no, that's the nifty fifty, very good value for money.

The 1.4 is over 3x the price of the 1.8, mind you the 1.2 is around 15x the price.

I forgot to mention that I have that lens. It is great. Very sharp, excellent shallow DOF. It is cheaply made (all plastic) but take care with it and it will be fine.

Thanks guys, I'll put the Nifty Fifty on my list to save for. If that price was way out, it may not take too long. I'll keep checking for overseas prices. I got the Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD from U.S. It was a fair bit cheaper than Canada.
