Tajinaste Plant, El Teide,Tenerife,

This plant is only found on El Teide, the highest mountain on Spanish soil. The day I took it, there was a torrential dowwnpour (never seen rain like it) and I had to take the photo hand held from inside the car with the window down and a gale blowing. It has a weird, alien feel to it, especially when you see them growing tall and alone on bare, black lava fields.

The shot is alright, nothing wrong with it. Especially as you shot it out of a car. There is some space to right which could be cropped out but you captured what you set out to do and did a good job.

I wouldn't worry about getting many comments either. Its not a reflection of the work posted, even POTD hardly gets any comments sometimes. Its just apathy :-)

A decent photographer would have got out the car to take the picture!

Not a bad shot considering the weather. As to lack of comments that's reflected on all sites.

Thanks Karen, I was feeling a bit deflated. Oldboy, what sotpped me was the rain getting into my camera! Its the only one I have and, I have a love/hate relationship with it, hate it cos I have outgrown it, but love it cos its all I have!
