D3100 video question....
when i record and put it on autofocus, i can hear the lense autofocusing in the video. is that normal ?

Unfortunately yes, although check out the firmware on the Nikon site, I seem to recall them releasing something which helps.

If you want to record decent audio, best get a mic attachment.
