@ Cutter - if the squirrel was eating McDonald's, he would have died quite soon afterwards, what with all the junk, chemicals and additives that it puts in its food!

This is a much sharper shot than the original you posted, 1/500s as opposed to 1/60s makes all the difference. Well done Mark.

They're actually quite cute for vermin, aren't they?

How do you know it was McDonalds? Did it leave the wrappers strewn all over your garden?

Cracking shot Cutter.

They might look cute but they do a lot of damage to trees. This month they are eating the new buds and breaking the leaves off.

a black squirrel, rarer than the red squirrel.

It's a mutation of the grey & was imported from America apparently at the end of the 19th century, found in a couple of areas of the UK

These are all great shots. I only have one photo of a squirrel, and it is a very very poor one. Certainly not good enough for posting. What I do like about it is the fact that it is backlit, and the sun is shining straight through its tail, and the tail is exceptionally skinny. It looks so weird
