Camera faithful

I just switched my camera to faithful from camera standard and think my colour rendition and quailty has improved greatly. Has anyone else switched to this using the 5dmk2 because originally the colour was too saturated? If you haven't and are suffering from colours looking over-saturated I would really suggest the change.

As Cathus sort of said....in RAW I did not think the those made a difference. Unless you are processing in DPP, then you can set them in there.

If shooting jpegs then they would apply.

To answer your question, I have ignored those settings for a long time, I always shoot in RAW. Of course that is WAY different than shooting in the RAW (I could not help myself, my fingers just typed it - it has been a long Thursday here and it is only 3:35PM locally).

as far as I can see the settings are applied but not fixed when shooting in RAW.Hence the ability to go into DPP and change them after taking a shot .

On my understanding Karen is shooting using camera faithful in Raw mode and still has the capacity to change things later.

I always shoot raw but just thought it would be handy for anyone who never dabbles with the camera settings or shoots in Jpg :-)
I suppose I have only just started looking at after I was wondering why my colours were always so intense and someone mentioned my reds looked over saturated. I've just set my camera to it now so I don't have to change it in the raw editor.

Yes, there would be that "just go out of the swimming pool" problem for men

I always use camera faithful and shoot raw only. I never bother with in-camera jpegs. You can set any of the Picture Styles in ACR and sometimes toggle between them to see what suits the image best. Generally though, I prefer to set Faithful, or Neutral and use other tried and tested methods to enhance the colour saturation. The whole point of shooting raw is so that you have complete control over the way the final image looks.
