Thanks Andy, I like it too. Seems I failed with the execution though as it seems way to dark on the monitor at work. I wanted to give it a sepia tint, but now it looks very dark and reddish. So much for that I really like your teeny tiny spider btw!

Okay, back to work

Silvia, for me it's the New Year fireworks. The why is difficult, but I think it's the fact that you've shot them over a lake or sea, without any human reference. That makes it seem so useless that it makes you wonder why...

Thanks Lion, it's one of my favorite spots in Japan. I don't know why but I always return. It's actually a crescent shaped bay and the fireworks was at the furthest end of it, so you could see it from the whole city. But as I was accidentally positioned right next to it, there's only ocean, beach and a few rocks. It was pretty packed except for that one spot, that's why I chose it

Shirahama Onsen: In the top picture, close to the woods.

Hi everyone, totally new to all this, and managed to enter my fav photo in totally the wrong category, hi hum.

My fav is 'the eyes have it' taken of oine of my lovely dogs, but not your standard dog shot I think, anyhow, I like it

Oh thanks for looking Andy, much apprecaited! I have posted on another thread how I desperately need to learn how to use my lovely new D300, that shot was taken with my D40 on an auto mode, there aint not autos on the 300 and boy have I been taking photos on some random settings lol
