Red face So tonight I learned...

...when you're sitting there, with some free time on your hands, and you're wondering if the cloud formation is going to produce a nice sunset or not...

Don't um and ah about it, realise that it is going to be lovely, leave the house and get stuck in traffic at the level crossing while 3 trains go past.

Get out there early just in case. It's better to be there in position, rather than miss a beautiful sunset!

What a plonker!

If this makes you feel any better..... yesterday I left work early to pick up my daughters. It snowed yesterday here in Toronto. It had not snowed a lot for a couple of weeks. It would normally take me 20 - 30 minutes to get the girls and then go home. I left at 4:50, got the girls at 6:40 and got home at 7:00. It was not much snow at all, really. Just a few centimetres.

I've been in the opposite position to that, looked up and seen the thin clouds that suggest a great sunset, got myself into the ideal position and waited for the sun to reach the horizon, only for some heavy clouds to appear from nowhere and kill the sunset dead.
