That's what I thought - but this dude has a gallery and hasn't tried posting a spam link, so seems genuine? I think we may have been a little trigger happy here

I agree, also remember Canada has a strong French connection so maybe this member is French Canadian, hence the wording/grammer.............

Like others, I assumed the worst from the recent spate of spam messages.

Had I looked a bit further before I posted I would have seen that although this thread is his only posting since he joined 2 weeks ago, Peejay Terrado has uploaded 10 photos with his name watermarked on the ones I've looked at.

Digging deeper, he features in a lot of photo sites as a contributor, see here for one example:
http://onedailyshot.com/2011/03/03/a...eejay-terrado/

He also has a bona fide facebook page.

So, if you're still out there Peejay, with a huge spoonfull of humble pie, may I apologise for any offence I have caused, and hope you've stuck around long enough to at least read this far!

Nice work by the way.

Rick.

Many apologies peej. I must be becoming too cynical in my old age.

Bonjour Peejterrado25,

But if your native language isn't french, copy and paste all the above for a garbled translation back in to English!

I have become far too cynical in my old age.

Apologies for the 'Flower pun,' but the rest of my advice is genuine.

The 'Photo of the day' is selected from the uploaded pictures, and as there are so many, it really has to catch the eye of the/an editor, so it has to be an 'outstanding' photo in all possible ways!

Good luck and a belated welcome to the forum.

Reinardina.

To all:

i do understand the dilemma of encountering such scenario having someone with similar name or whatsoever bothering you people for such business deals or any trash information...but hey, as far as i analyze your existence on this site, having a senior member tag on your names only means maturity of making such decisions and thoughts to analyze the profile of other members, not just judging with mouth and hands...and on the other hand, as far as forum ethics is concern..would it be more professional if you will report these annoyance postings to the admins of this site so they will do whatever action is needed to be taken, which is the primary role of moderators as far as i know...(or are they managing the sites well??)

...anyhow...so much for this...bottomline is, i found the answer to my query and again, i appreciate the clarification. Thanks and hope it will be better the next time around

...and for the record, i am not french but i am a Filipino living in Canada but "merci!, Rbarry for your statement

It is unfortunate that this happens sometimes but every now and again this site gets targeted by spammers and others more determined to take the site down. Assumptions have been made that people have stated regret for and hopefully you will stick around and learn more about photography like the rest of us. Don`t be worried about status. You are "junior" and I am "senior" only on the basis of numbers of posts made on the site. It does not say we know any more than you or are mature in any way - ask my wife about me

Welcome to the site and good luck with your pohotography. I personally find the galleries too unwieldy on here and only put on weekly comp entries. If you want critique on any of your images put them in another thread and usually someone will do so but you should not expect much from gallery comments - though being in there means you might get a Picture of the Day one day

All the best
