Best camera, compact or not for £150

I'm new to the photography scene and I was wondering what is the best digital camera for a budget of £150

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forums.

To help you I need a little more information including...

- What sort of things are you going to shoot?
- Is the camera for something specific or are you after an all-round camera?
- Are there any manufacturers you particularly like (or dislike)?
- Are there any particular features you want or need?

However, a few good all purpose, all rounders that you could look at are:

Panasonic DMC-FS25, the Canon IXUS 95 IS and the Olympus FE-5020.

The Panasonic and the Olympus both have 5x zooms (the Canon only has a 3x zoom) and they all have image stabilisation to help stop camera shake.

If you're after an everyday, pocket friendly camera the Panasonic or the Olympus would be my choice!

Hope thats of some help.

PANASONIC LUMIX DMC TZ3 - not a better compact camera on the market - anywhere - and at current prices - well under £150 - a bargain - ok it may well have been replaced with updated models - but still available and at great discounted prices - mine is now 3 years old now - and has been used dailly without an problems whatsoever - wish I had shares in PANASONIC - because their 4/3 format PANASONIC LUMIX G1 is some DSLR - but way beyond your current £150 budget.

But hey - what do I know - I'll just let my photographs do the speaking.

Blimey - I didn't realise the TZ3 had dropped that far in price.

If you can find a TZ3 for £150 then snap it up!
